Ziņojums par ECA dalību Eiropas Komponistu organizāciju sanāksmēs
Thank you for the encouraging (and empowering) to represent the voice of the European Council of Artists at the largest convention of the European Composer organizations – Artmusfair, this time in Warsaw 22 – 26 September 2010.

On the 24th of September, invited from the general secretary of the European Composers' Forum Frank Stahmer (Austria), ECA board member Ugis Praulins (Latvia) delivered a speech in front of the colleagues – leading personalities of the European Composers' organizations, festival organizers, representatives of the National Music Councils, Music Information Centers and broadcasting.

“Pushing Contemporary music forward” also means to work closely with multimedia artists in the project. Hereby ECA (more than 200 000 professional artists from 26 European umbrella organizations [including Saamiland, Faroe Islands and Georgia]) is calling for a better collaboration and consultation between the creators of art – esp. in common strategy when addressing to the EU level – about the fair remuneration for artists work, intellectual property issues and also mobility problems (which are in our days generic to all artists – whether equipment, music instruments, designers work, also – visas and carnet, etc.)

Colleagues welcomed the idea of broadening the society, network of professional creators, building the critical mass for the visible and permanent representation of the creative professionals in Brussels.

Furthermore it would be feasible to forward the essential news from ECA to the vice-president of ECF Helmut Erdmann <helmut.w.erdmann@neue-musik-lueneburg.de> (and also to the secretary general of ECF Frank Stahmer <stahmer@composersforum.eu>, who is also a board member of the European Music Council EMC, another significant possible partner for ECA).

ECA materials were placed in the informative stands, which were of great interest for students (the events took place at the Fryderyk Chopin University of Music).

Ugis Praulins
